About The Post

The Greater Kansas City Post (GKC Post) of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is one of over 118 posts around the world. The SAME organization is supported by Regions and each Region is comprised of several local Posts. The GKC Post is one of six posts within the Missouri River Region.

About The Post


The GKC Post represents SAME members in the Greater Kansas City area including Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, and Douglas counties in Kansas and Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass counties in Missouri. In addition to our local members, we have members across the nation who contribute to the success of the post.

Our membership is composed of Individual Members and over 80 Sustaining Member firms totaling in excess of 500 members. GKC Post members also include the Fort Riley Field Chapter, and two Student Chapters: the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri, Kansas City. We are one of the largest and successful posts in the Society.

On an annual basis, the Missouri River Region teams up with our sister region, the Texoma Region, for a Joint Regional Conference.
